tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27, 1976. Gonzalez was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a top football and basketball player. Gonzalez continued to excel in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was instrumental in leading the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set the record for his school for receptions with nine, and tied it. Gonzalez later led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament just a few months later. After graduating from high school in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as the thirteenth overall pick. Gonzalez was a player with the Chiefs from 1997 to the year 2008. Gonzalez was transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. He didn't catch fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
